Peter K.K. Williams studied painting with the late Frank Hewett at the University of Vermont and then earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Johnson State College, in conjunction with the Vermont Studio Center.
Peter has explorde the circuitous dictates of his curiosity. The results range widely in subject and style and include the Vermont landscape, the Costa Rican rain forest, and mist-swathed mountains inspired by landscape paintings from the Sung Dynasty. Of particular interest to this artist is the ceaseless interplay between light, rock and the surface of Lake Champlain, and the concomitant abrasion between order and chaos - the process that creates pure visual abstraction, but which is, in fact, dependent upon the physical laws of nature.
